Kelly Thomas, head coach & owner of Vero Cheer. I started in competitive gymnastics, but when a growth spurt ended my gymnastics career I found competitive cheerleading. In college, I cheered for the Florida State University All-Girl team and won a National Championship. After graduation, I could not give up my love for cheerleading. While working a full time job, I coached youth leagues and at an all-star gym in the evenings and on weekends. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent with my teams and parents. When I became pregnant with Nolan, I postponed coaching to spend more time with him. Five years and another child later, Makayla, I have realized that cheerleading is my true passion. This lead me to leave my career as Vice President of Marketing for a national company and begin my own all-star cheerleading program. Working with children, helping them to gain self-confidence and grow mentally and athletically is more rewarding than I could have hoped for. I will teach your child to reach new heights. In High School I was a member of the Football, Basketball, Baseball, Swim, and Track Teams. I am a graduate of Florida State University, Go Noles!

Certified Gymnastic Instructor- I was a competitive gymnast as a child and a cheerleader on and off from middle school through to my freshman year at a small university. I've been a coach for 21 years with my first real coaching position at the age of 13 as a pre-team gymnastics coach. I am also the former gymnastics director at Christi's Family Fitness here in town. Gymnastics has always been my passion and I enjoy teaching kids not only how to "flip" but, more importantly, to believe in themselves. There's no better feeling than knowing that you helped an otherwise shy or under-confident athlete to achieve what they thought in their mind was not possible. The rapport and level of trust that I build with my students makes for a highly rewarding experience. While many of my coaching years have been dedicated to gymnastics, I have several years of cheerleading coaching experience as well. I have been coaching middle school and varsity cheerleading teams at Saint Edward's School for the past 5 years and have been a part of the Vero Cheer family almost from the beginning as a tumbling coach. I appreciate each individual athlete and can promise that I will push each child to reach their full potential. It is my experience that discipline, hard work and commitment produce results and I expect nothing less than 100% effort from my students.
